Kauai

Well I am officially back from our family vacation. It is the last vacation we will have with our whole family before our wonderful kids are off to college. We will loose our first one at the end of this year. That being said, we decided to just go for it and have a blow out! So off we went to the island of Kauai. This was to be a family fun trip, but turned into something much much more for me and for my husband. As soon as we landed I felt as if I had come home. Comfortable and content is how our days were spent. We got to spend some absolutely GREAT quality time with our children. And we also got to live a life of complete relaxation for 1 whole week! THIS was a real big deal to us!!! Between the swimming with the giant sea turtles and riding a grungy atv through the forest/jungles....I found a spot in my soul that must have needed to be filled by this island...and this island alone. One day , and I do mean this, when the children are done with high school....we will live there, my husband and I. We will paint and create and live this life of ease. We will spend a huge part of our existence just breathing in the air of this beautiful island. It will forever be my home.
Now, I know this all sound corny....but like I have said many times before...this life need more corn! And Greg and I neeeeeed more of our Kauai. So will will begin saving now for our next visit in the fall.
Here are a few pictures from our travels. I hope you find them as inspiring as I did....
Enjoy!

Love your pics and your thoughts on your experience there. The waterfall picture almost doesn't look real does it?

I lived on Kauai, for a few years. It was my home and out of ALL the places I have lived, Hawaii, Achorage, Florida, North and South Carolinas, California, and many more, Kauai I always considered home. I have not been back for almost 30 years.
I have always wanted to go back and take my family. If fact, I am planning a trip for our 25th anniversay with kids and friends. Already have the house picked out Near Princeville on the beach where the Killer whales like to swim. I don't think my family will know the grasp that island has until they see it for the first time. The Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast. Horse back riding and even canoeing. You made me cry seeing the pictures and hearing your story. I can't believe how you described my dream that I am saving so we all can go after college and on our anniversary. Hopefully Papa can find a job!! One of my son's long time friends is going to the UW this year. He will join us!
Funny, my name is Michele Lee, but, just my first and Middle name I use on FB. LOL! Thanks, the dream is so much closer and real now!

Oh, and my husbands name is Greg. I was a freelance artist while I lived there and sold my items in the hotels. Everyone knows how much I want to go back and take them with me. I love your pictures!
I will keep an eye out for ya when I go!
