Another sold & Panel #5

Another painting sold. This was called "A Study in Degas" Thank you to Brian and Richard over at Richard Cable Interiors.
http://www.richardcableinteriors.com/ They have a beautiful home decorating business and store in the new Bridgestreet shopping center in Huntsville, Al. They have been carrying my art for some time now and doing a fine job of selling it. Thanks guys for for all that you do! You rock!
The commissioned Panels are coming along nicely. Here is a glimpse of Panel #5. I know...the name alone makes me want to sing Mombo #5 :-)

Sorry about the picture quality..had to use the trusty cell phone.
Enjoy!

New Business/New Website

Looking back at December...I had no idea where my life was headed. I thought I was going to work a little, spend time with the family, and of course paint for at least the next 10 yrs or so. Sometimes we don't always know what is going to happen in our lives...that's what makes this life such a wonderful adventure. Sometimes...just sometimes we have to close our eyes and jump! So that is what I/we did......
I have partnered up with a very good friend, Ricky Sauls, and created a new company! Artistic Finishes. http://artisticfinishesstudio.com/ It has been a lot of hard work...but with a little prayer, sweat, tears and the support of great families, we have created a wonderful adventure.
My husband has been very hard at work getting the website launched. Thank God...because I HATE that part of it! Ricky and I have been busy with new clients, painting and samples samples samples!
I have to give a big hung and thank you to Leigh http://fencepostings.wordpress.com/and Ashleigh for helping to create a beautiful logo. As artists, Ricky and I have way too may ideas to put together and it can get very confusing. So thanks again girls. THAT was a lot of work.
Thanks to Heather Bookout http://heatherbookoutphotography.com/and her staff , we were able to find the right website, have great photos taken and given enough encouragement to launch this company. Thanks guys for being so patient with us through all of this wild ride. You guys are the bomb!
I am sure that I have forgotten someone...but this is not the Grammy's. LOL
I guess the point of all of this is to say....when you are in doubt and don't know which way to turn.....close your eyes and choose a path. With even just a little faith and prayer.....it will be ok.
Enjoy!

Girl's Night Out

I have to say that I am so thankful to have a group of women whom I love and cherish. They are my sisters when I have none. They are my strength when strength is gone. They are my sunlight when skies are grey.
Well.....that was corney as all get out! But it is true.
I love you girls!
Here is a picture from one of or many Girl's Night Out evenings. We went to the movies. But I tell ya...trying to catch up on all of our lives in 20 minutes before the movie starts was so funny. We looked like a bunch of "wild eyed" hens chirping and cackling loudly in the lobby.

Enjoy!

Jackson Pollock Update and new girl!

On Jackson Pollock's Birthday, a few of us got together and had a great paint day. There were some girls I hadn't seen in a while and a new one who seemed to enjoy herself quite a lot! Thanks for joining us Noelle. I hope you come again. You are a nice fit :) and a heck of a painter! Some girls painted while others knitted or crocheted...I'm not real sure. Those two confuse me. Our host Angie made a lunch to die for! See her finished piece at http://pickmybrainsart.blogspot.com/
I am so thankful to have such great women in my life. Thanks guys for always being there. YOU ROCK!!!!
I started a new painting. Here is a hint of that along with some pictures of the day.
Enjoy!

Art of a different kind

Well as most of you know, art on canvas is not all that I do. Recently I got the opportunity, with my business partner Ricky Sauls, to paint a beautiful dome. It is about 26' in diameter and about 2 stories high. My kids joke with me all the time. They constantly tease me about my fear of heights. So I made sure to take a shot for them that they would get a kick out of(my feet dangling off the edge of the scaffold)

The project was a huge success! The client loved it....and so did we.

Yes... I DID say "business" partner. Ricky and I have started a new company called Artistic Finishes. We do faux and decorative finishes on cabinets and walls. We also do murals and custom art. Ricky is a very talented artist himself as well as his better half, Noelle. I am blessed to have found such a good partner and to be able to do what I love for a living. What I didn't expect was for it to take off so fast! We have been blessed to have some great clients. It has taken time away from the family (one think that I was hoping NEVER to do) But my husband has been wonderful through the wild beginning and taken up the slack. It is nice to have a man who can be a Mr. Mom. So far there are four of us working and one more talented artist about to come on board. I will let you all know when the website comes up. That way you will be able to see lots of different art.

Enjoy!
