The Bunny baby is here!!!!

The Bunny baby is here! As some of you remember, I did a commission piece for his mother a while back. Well on Oct. 19th Thad made his grand arrival. He is the new son of my dear friends Erika and Bo. And he has got to be the most beautiful baby I have seen in a long time. I think I will have to rank him right up there with my little chickadees.
I got to go over the other night right after he got home from the hospital and hold him and feed him and smell his little head. How I miss that baby smell. A hint of powder and soft new skin. Looking at his little face and the cute little half smile (gas from the bottle I'm sure) all I could think was, How precious we all are when we start this journeyof life. I wish that we could all remember how precious we are when we are walking through it. Sometimes I forget that God sees me that way ALL the time. Just like that little baby.
Welcome home Mr. Thad. We are all so glad you are here.
Enjoy!

TGIF

Here is a quick update and pictures from the past week. It has been a busy one!
1. Friday started with a bang! My friend Carol's bridal shower. All I can say is fun fun fun!
2. Saturday we (Average to Art team) ran in the Liz Hurley run. Well...some of us ran...and some of us, namely me, walked. What a great day and a great turn out. I was extremely proud of my boys! Later that evening, my two oldest children got to go to their first high school dance!!They looked so grown up. (I didn't even do the mommy cry) They are turning out to be such beautiful teenagers.
3. Monday night was Cork and Canvas. Thank you to everyone who came out for the Cork and Canvas. We had a huge turnout and you all were real troopers. Everyone painting their own individual piece was a big task. I am proud to say that quite a few of you actually got your paintings done.
4. My mom got to come home from the hospital and is doing GREAT! What a relief that is. She is a strong woman and I had no doubt that she would be fine. Thank you to everyone for your prayers. (mom will probably kill me for this pic)
5. And I rounded out the week with work/art/PURPLE! I spent the rest of the week doing my other art at my day job. Let me add....I LOVE MY JOB! A purple wall treatment for a new client.

Ahhh, I feel much better getting my blog caught up. Now I can go sit and enjoy some time off with my family......well at least for the next 24 hrs or so. TGIF
Enjoythe pictures and enjoy YOUR weekend!

1976

I got a box of goodies from my Mom a while back. In the bottom of the box was "A Year in Pictures" magazine from the year 1976. I was looking at this yesterday and realized...everything that I worry about in the world today, was going on in 1976 too. I was 10 yrs old that year. I remember vacations to the beach and skiing with my family, riding my bike with my friends and being happy and free. I got to thinking, maybe I worry so much about the world today because I am older. There is always going to be tragedy...but one thing is for sure...there is always going to be God as well. So, I started to create a simple collage of the thoughts and feelings I was having. And the words kept ringing in my head....Do not be afraid...Live your life...I am here.

Berchesgaten

Here is another blast from the past story. I don't know what is wrong with me...must be just one of those memory days.

I used to live in Heidelberg, Germany. It is so beautiful there. If you ever have a chance to go...GO! One of the places that I loved to go was to Berchesgaten. It was in the Black Forest/mountains of Germany. In the spring we would drive there and stay in cute little hotels. You know the kind that were almost like a bed and breakfast? Where the sheets were fluffy, the comforters made of down, the food was incredible and the view out the window was nothing less than spectacular! MMMMMM...yum! Anyway, this is what the drive into Berchesgaten, in the spring, always looked like to me.

So sit back, enjoy the drive and soak in the view.
Guten tag!

I miss the flowers

Fall is here and my back yard is beginning to be full of leaves. So here is a painting for those of you, like me, who miss all of the beautiful flowers of spring. I know that they will be back next year....but I just can't let go...I miss the flowers.
Years ago I worked at a florist in Columbus, Georgia. I remember when we used to get all the new shipments of flowers in and how they smelled. The back of our florist was connected to a floral warehouse that was full of white containers with every flower imaginable in them. I would go back there some days and just sit in the middle of them. So low to the ground that I could not see anything but petals. I loved the feeling of being in a pool of flowers. It was so serene.

I am my Mother's daughter

I got a call today that my Mom is going to have to have heart surgery. Not the best news. But I am my mother's daughter. Which means, I will pack my bags, keep a positive outlook, put my big girl panties on and take a road trip. My Mom is a very strong woman. When ever there is something of concern going on...this is what she does. I have learned well. And I tell ya what...It works. By the time I get there, I will be in full mommy mode and all will be right with the world.

So here is one that was painted for my mom today. An apple or two for her heart and a strand of pearls for her beauty and grace.

I love you Mom! XXOO
on my way>>>>>>>

Enjoy!
